Annual. Extravagant and peculiar! Small showy lemon-yellow flowers on long multi-branched stems appear in early summer and soon transform into jubilant 1½" goblet-shaped seedpods, upright, ribbed, radiating out into needle-thin curved points that turn from green to deep purple. These trumpeting pods are quite distinct from the other nigella we offer, which are ballooned. Similar wispy foliage. 18–24" tall.

Annual. Everlasting grown especially for its spiky decorative seed pods. Germinates in 10–14 days at 60°. Grow on at 60–65°. Set transplants 6–9" apart.

Almost all the flowers we list are open- pollinated and easy to save seed from. Some types cross readily, but who cares! Save the seeds, plant them, and be surprised.
