Sometimes called False Spirea. Long-lasting plumes of flamboyant feathery flowers light up a shady perennial or woodland garden in midsummer. Sturdy stems; a nice cutflower, fresh or dried. Elegant glossy fern-like foliage forms an attractive clump that looks good all season. Prefers cool shady areas but is surprisingly tolerant of sun when planted in consistently moist well-drained soil. Mulch if necessary. Plant 18–24" apart. Divide clumps every few years.
