(110 days) Open pollinated.
An excellent red onion for northern growers and a superior keeper. Bred in Southport, CT, in 1873, Red Globe has endured the test of time for its dependability, storage capability and mild flavor. Uniform round medium-sized glossy dark burgundy bulbs are flavorful, but not overly spicy. Delicious raw or cooked. We haven’t offered this variety since 1996 and are thrilled to bring it back, thanks to quality stock seed from seed extraordinaire Sylvia Davatz and our talented seed growers.
