Quincy Pinto Shell and Dry Bush Bean - Organic

seeds
Phaseolus vulgaris
(106 days) Open pollinated.

Although maturing on the later side, the large speckled tan beans come through with good yield—and do so even in stressful conditions. When slow cooked, the dry beans have a good creamy flavor, perfect for a midwinter comfort meal. The upright bush plant with short vines does a nice job shading weeds, which our grower says “is always helpful for organic production.” A joint release of Washington State U with the USDA, Quincy has gained a reputation as the first commercial pinto with resistance to the seedborne NY 15 and CBMV, spread between plants by aphids. Does not resist R. Intermediate resistance to CTV.
