Decadently dark, brooding allium blossoms.
Dark burgundy-red to purple florets with nearly black centers and stems form broad 2" flowerheads, like little goblets of port wine for the fairies. Beloved by pollinators; best planted en masse. Plant alongside white Alliums like Graceful Beauty and Mt. Everest for striking contrast. Wonderful cutflower. Species native from Turkey through the Balkans, this heirloom has been hosting Goth pollinator parties since the 1800s.
24–34" tall. Late Spring to Early Summer blooms, Z4–7. 8cm/up. NEW!
