Lingonberries (Vaccinium)

To ensure good fruit production, plant more than one variety. Plant 12–18" apart in rows 3–4' apart. Bright red glossy nutritious fruits are slightly smaller than lowbush blueberries. Tart until dead ripe, then has excellent flavor, richer and less astringent than cranberries.

Vigorous shallow-rooted spreading groundcover. Native to the colder northern hemisphere. Incredibly tough and very hardy.
