20-28" tall. We are crazy about Trollius, which are like enormous fancy buttercups. Doubled light cream to Chardonnay yellow flowers bloom in late spring, around the time of late tulips. The snazzy petal-filled blossoms seem miraculous so early in the season. Excellent for cutting. Palmately lobed, then further divided and toothed (buttercup-like) leaves form a mound.
Ideal for a moist border, streamside, or naturalizing in a damp meadow, though ours are thriving in well-drained garden soil.
Plant 8–12" apart in moist heavy soil, full sun to part shade. Z3.
