4-6' tall. Elegant towering North American native sends up large 9" flower spikes of densely clustered tiny white blossoms that open from the top down beginning in midsummer. Lance-shaped leaves form whorls on rugged upright stems that rarely need staking. Bees and butterflies love this flower. Adds beautiful architecture to the back of the perennial border and is a requirement in any well-built rain garden.
