Corylus avellana12' × 12' (OSU 703.007) Oregon State University intro, Corvallis, 2009.
Seedlings of an outstanding European hazelnut bred and selected for heavy yields, sweet flavor, consistently good kernel quality and disease resistance.
Note: These are not grafted or rooted cultivars; they will express some variability in nut quality. Because they are seedlings, they are considered self-pollinating but planting multiples will improve yields.
Prefers well-drained acidic soils, full sun. Upright form, will sucker but can be trained to a single stem and cultivated as a small tree. Good for hedgerows or for erosion control on slopes. Resistant to Eastern Filbert Blight. Z5. NEW! (1-3' bare-root trees).
