Dark purple buds open to single red-purple blossoms just under 2" in diameter. Leaves are deep purple turning bronzy green in summer and red in fall. 1" fruit is also purple red; does not stick around through winter. Spreading form. Really good resistance to disease. Named for a lake in Ottawa and is part of a group of crabs called the Lake Series.
