Chasmanthium latifolium Open-pollinated. Perennial to Zone 4. Strong 2' arching stems dance with airy flattened seedheads. Lovely in arrangements from June through fall, after which its bamboo-like foliage changes from green to a rich brown for winter contrast. Elisabeth has a vase of sea oats on her desk as she finishes the catalog in late October. The dried seedheads make interesting accents in handmade paper.
